The "cult" that doesn't exist

People online were "connecting the dots". Dots that weren't really there. But they were convinced that they were about to expose something (sinister?) by following the path of the hashtag #createnothate. And some of them apparently had plans to "infiltrate" our (open for everyone to "join in") group of YouTube video creators.

I first found out about people talking about our group of creators, using the hashtag "#createnothate" and some of us calling themselves "monsters", in the year 2021. When I was following the tracks of those coming over to my YouTube channel from the imageboard 4chan. As I told you in "Becoming A Monster", knowing about 4chan and the dephs of depravity and weirdness you can find there, I was a bit concerned at first. And then I found that thread, with people talking about... Pet Monster. Mainly.

Can anyone explain this?

After searching for a few different keywords, including 4chan and my name, I found a site in the archives of the imageboard. It was a continuation of an "/x/-Paranormal" thread, where someone posted a link to a "Pet and Chic" video, asking for an explanation.

Written in the typical 4chan style, they were telling that they "maybe stumbled over something they weren't supposed to see" and if anyone "can explain this?"

People joined the "discussion" with their wildest (and sometimes disturbing) theories of what is going on with "Pet and Chic", the creators that get supported by them and the comments on the YouTube videos on the "Pet and Chic" channel. Mixed with antisemitic slurs and such. At first I was a bit disgusted, to be honest. But knowing, that 4chan is a place full of stuff nobody (who's right in his mind) wants to see or read (😏), I began to see the funny side of it all.

The "continuation" thread wasn't less entertaining to read. But a quite disgusting "comparison" there made me want to reach out to those people and set the record straight. Already back in 2021, when I first stumbled over that discussion. I also already have noticed someone talking about our group of creators as a "cult".

I forgot about that all after a few days though. I had better things to do than spending time with thinking about what people might make up about us creators. So, I kept on editing and uploading videos. Forgetting about that stuff.

We are a... "cult"!?

2021 passed, 2022 came and I was living my happy "Monster"-life. Editing, uploading, waiting for comments to show up, liking them. And of course I comment on videos of "Pet and Chic", "Granny Monster", "OO390" and my other "YouTube friends" every now and then. Not as much as I did a few years ago. They deserve way more nice comments/reviews and 👍 though. So, if you decide to visit their channels and watch their videos, be kind and leave them a like!

It was on Discord, in fall of 2022, when someone (I don't know if I am allowed to mention the person, so I will leave their name out until I have permission to mention them) sent me a DM, telling me of a "meatsleep" server on Discord, they thought was some space for fans to appreciate the work of "meatsleep" and discuss the videos. It turned out, the person told me, that the "discussion" on that server turned into a "Pet and Chic are a cult" thing. Then they mentioned "these 4chan/reddit" theorist [bad-word] and I instantly knew what they were talking about. We were chatting a little, they told me their thoughts on us creators and told me about how much they enjoy our videos. (Thank you so much!) And they understood that #createnothate is our message against hate comments on the internet. Nothing "cult-ish", nothing weird, nothing depraved. Just a message of respect and love.

They also sent me an invitation to that server, to see for myself and maybe clear things up first-hand. I appreciate that a lot. Because it turned out that people really were curious about what's true and what's not true of all those rumors. Although, the person that invited me, apologized for "all the fuss". But I was thankful to be able to set the record straight about "our group". I remember being creeped out a bit when someone told me, that some people thought about "infiltrating" the alleged "cult", even preparing to investigate on "Pet and Chic", even thinking about intimidating them - like it was the case with "meatsleep" (that's the reason why they had to stop. Harassing people, that aren't involved in any way in something they don't even know of, is more than one step too far). I hope I was able to stop those people from doing something that might get them in trouble - because of some weird theories.

There is NO CULT!

We are nothing but a loose collective of video creators, supporting each other, spreading our message against hate.

We are NO cult. We do nothing weird, nothing illegal or criminal. We just make videos, express ourselves in our very individual ways. And we enjoy doing that. At least I do!

I am still on that "meatsleep" server. Not as active and engaging in conversations as at the beginning though. But I am happy. I found a few familiar names there - like ᴎull. They are very talented and inspiring creators! And I follow some of them for years now.

Ok. I hope, I was able to convince people that we aren't a cult

and we can resume with rituals and carry on with the secret cult stuff ;)

Hahaha - I'm trying to be funny...

CALM DOWN! I am just kidding! PEACE!
